January 2021 Impact Report

Human Trafficking Prevention Month

Although Human Trafficking Prevention Month is coming to a close, our work empowering survivors of human trafficking is not over. Join us and choose to walk alongside a survivor of human trafficking everyday when you become a Monthly Hope Partner. Starting at $10 a month, your monthly support helps young women break the cycle of human trafficking and live a life with hope, dignity, and freedom.

January Highlights

  • Emerging Leaders Outing in India. The staff and a few of the emerging leaders had a small outing where we spent time together, played games and shared a delicious meal. We also had a small session where we discussed what motivates us to do our work and how our colleagues could support us.

  • Prossy* Finished Finals! Prossy*, a survivor in our Uganda Sanctuary, has finished her second semester finals and is excited about going into her final year of study at the University.

  • Holiday English Lessons in Tijuana. We took advantage of the holiday spirit and practiced some English with the song “All I Want for Christmas is You”, and we did some exercises practicing vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

  • New Survivor Joined the India Sanctuary. We were excited to welcome a new member to the Sanctuary this month. She comes to us from one of our partner organizations in Mumbai.

  • Oprah Magazine Feature. On our last day at the office for 2020, we shared with the ladies that the Baroque Hoop they made were featured in Oprah Magazine. The room was full of excitement and cheer, especially for the women who know Oprah, and we all felt very rewarded for the hard work that had been put into making the jewelry.
