Cebu is a destination, source, and transit area for human trafficking.

Women and children victims are brought to be sold in this region. Corrupt authorities turn a blind eye to numerous bars and underground nightclubs in return for bribes.

The women we serve typically grew up in desperate poverty and had no choice but to leave school to work and help with their families’ bills. They were promised an exciting job with a dream-come-true salary. Unfortunately this was a lie, they were in fact exploited, abused, and violated.

Women escaping human trafficking often struggle to reintegrate into society — that’s where we offer resources. At our Cebu Sanctuary, young women find a job, training, and economic freedom. We use a trauma-informed approach to ensure that we can best support the women in our program.

Aftercare

Our Sanctuary is a safe and accepting environment, built around community to provide aftercare for survivors. While here, women and girls receive education, counseling, medical care, and employment, enabling them to create a better life for themselves and obtain true freedom.

Education

Many survivors who enter our Sanctuary haven’t been educated past the elementary level. Women and girls receive an education through The Academy to address this education deficit and equip them with the knowledge and confidence they have been deprived of.

Prevention

Poverty leaves women vulnerable to being trafficked or coerced into selling their children. We serve women by providing them with employment and offering trafficking awareness to the community to prevent the everyday risks of trafficking.

Help to support women and girls at our Cebu Sanctuary.

“The appreciative hearts of our women for little things is contagious and is a wonderful reminder to always be grateful for everything. I love walking alongside our women in their journey toward healing and growth."
